A remote of opportunities

October 9th, 2008

The time has been flying away. We just finished the Communication skills module. I learned a lot of things and we were all standing in front of everyone talking. Actually, I’m better at it now (I’m so happy for that). So now I’m better at talking in front of many people. What else did I learn then? Well Linn Bay and Rolf-Arne from 370 degrees was here for two days and helped us develop our idea flow, I think I learnt a lot but I think this will take some time to work in. I will use the methods they learnt us in my further work, because I think the methods is really good! Daniel Wennermark Rosell was here too. He was inspiring because he talked about his life and what things made him change as a person. He also made us do Sound Yoga and Self Hypnosis. It was fun and relaxing at the same time!

I’m actually kind of tired of these non graphical things we learnt so far other than Motion week, not that it wasn’t good, it was great! But me as a person need to create things, it makes me happy! So well I think this new module “Experience technology” that we just started, can give me that opportunity.

I got a new group! Josefin, Therese and Anders. The group is truly awesome!  I think we work great as a team because so far everything works great. Anders is the project manager, Therese and Josefin is art directors and I’m tech/programmer for this new group project. The task is to create a new interactive invention. We got different things in different groups. Our group got two Wii remotes! This made me really happy and the first day I got a grip of one and got home to make this big study of it. I searched the internet for help and I learnt how to make the computer and the device to communicate with each other. This was really funny. I did so when you press a button and shake it in different directions the volume on the computer changes. Actually the possibilities for this are next to endless. I played around with it a lot and learnt to use the infrared camera. It can be used in a variety of good ways. We will have an exhibition in STHLM soon to show all our inventions, more information about that soon.

I feel big stress now that I have/want to learn AS3. I actually have to learn the difference between AS2 and AS3. This is really important right now because my portfolio is rather buggy and soon our class site will be in the makings and I’m going to be in the programming group. If someone can help me with this, it would be great! Drop me a mail!

I want to create a new digital art piece, it feels like forever since I made my last one! But it’s so many things that happen right now so when I’m home, I just want to rest. I will give it a try soon, promise!

Motion Week

September 16th, 2008

Last week was motion week, it was really fun and I learnt a lot. The week was held by Emil Bardh and Even Holte and I have to say that they did a really great work, I think we all learnt a lot. First we got this assignment to make a group motion within our group (Jenny, Erik, Henrik and me). The movie was limited to circles, so we had to figure out some idea with just circles. What we came up to was a Loco-Roco inspired movie with a rolling ball, take a look at it:

After this movie were done, we got the individual task to make a movie in 15 seconds about anything, just so it could fit in my portfolio. I had 1.5 days to make this:

At the same time as this assignment we should make another motion, at 7 seconds. I made one quick, in 30 min because I sat all night working with the individual. It went well and the awesome motionweek is over. Thanks Emil and Even!

Information society

September 4th, 2008

This week we had some really inspiring lectures, I will give you a few lines about them here.

Monday: Magnus Forsbrand came here to talk with us about the mobile industry. He talked lot about the new things that is going to happen in the near future. He talked for example about 4G and that it really will change our data speed in the mobile.

Tuesday: First, Tony Högkvist came here to talk with us about his company Perfect Fools and how they worked there. He is a former student at Hyper Island which I think is cool. He exposed some of their work at Perfect Fools and their right/wrongs in the works they did. Really cool lecture!

Later that day Jonathan Briggs came here to talk about the digital/online industry. He was very intresting to litsen to because he talked a lot about CMS systems and webdesign. He and the guys from The OTHER Media are making their own CMS system and it looked a little like Wordpress which I think is really good! Follow his blog here.

Today: We had our presentations and in my opinion every one of them held high standard which I think is really good because it’s our first module presentations here at Hyper Island.

Thank you for reading, take your time and write a comment if you like!

Hello Hyper

August 31st, 2008

Welcome to my head

First impression
The weeks at hyper was full of new experience, new people, new places and new assignments. Our UGL course week was wery rewarding. I learnt so many new things, about both myself and my team. The weeks at Hyper has been great so far!

Today
Today I went up in the morning, going to my group “HEJ” (Hampus, Henrik, Erik, Jenny) and we started recording our movie that we will use in our presentation, it was funny and we didn’t have to act with other people cause we was first at the school! As you see my blog is finished and my goal was to make it simple.

That was all for me this day, Take care!
